Croatia Summer Hotspots

By Jonny Blair

One of the European countries that are still unpopular, but very attractive summer holiday destinations is Croatia, which offers gorgeous Adriatic coastline and more than a thousand picturesque islands. Great many entertainments and sights await tourists in this friendly region. Both young and old adventurers will find here lots of outdoor activities to enjoy during their stay.

Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Rivinj - these are only some of the Croatian hotspots that should be included in your summer holiday. But this is not all, as the uncountable exotic Croatian islands are going to make your trip unforgettable.

Tourists, who would like to learn more about the culture and traditions of the region, should necessarily visit Croatian capital, as Zagreb has many sights to offer. They include countless museums, among which is the Mimara Museum, where you will find a lot of valuable artifacts, the old town Gornji Grad, where the beautiful cathedral St. Stephen is built in Neo-Gothic style, Dolmac market, etc.

Local people are proud with the beauty of Dubrovnik, with its Baroque architecture, marble streets and fine beaches. Not without reason it is called the "Peal of the Adriatic" and becomes one of the most popular Croatian hotspots.

Croatian seaside city, Split, is another preferred hotspot for many tourists who would like to spend their vacation on Dalmatian islands. Actually, this city is an ideal starting point to reach these islands, but before you leave, visit the main city's attraction called the Diocletian's Palace.

Have you ever heard about the "Sun Island of Croatia"? If you still do not, you should necessarily visit Hvar, a wonderful island that becomes more and more popular each and every year. This sunny island is long 67 kilometres and offers wonderful beaches where tourists can enjoy the Adriatic Sea. The weather is mild and allows tourists to come and rest here until the beginning of the winter season, enjoying the sun and beaches even in autumn and spring. The hospitable Hvar has a lot of surprises for its guests, such as pebbly beaches and rocky coastline, Croatian atoll, secluded coves, vineyards, olive groves, etc.

Some other beautiful places to visit during your summer holiday in Croatia are Rivinj, a beautiful town with many sights and architectural attractions; Spadici, where sportsmen will find great sports facilities and shopping opportunities, while enjoying the sunny beaches; Bol with its attractions provides an incredible opportunity for great rest at the splendid beaches; Makarsa, a beautiful lonely destination, where tourists can find the beauty of the sea and mountains combined in one stunning place, and so on. These are just a few of the beautiful places in Croatia, where you can spend your summer holiday.

Tourists who would like to make a culture trip, to learn many new exiting things about the region, to see a lot of sights and beautiful islands, as well as to have a great beach holiday at inexpensive prices can combine all these things in one summer holiday in Croatia. This country offers a lot of treasures to be explored and great many fantastic adventures to be experienced.
