Save Money And Space Using Twin Over Twin Bunk Bed

By Lana Bray

While raising kids closet space and enough play room is often a problem. Redesigning is often costly, and doesn't fit into to family budgets. One of the most cost effective, simple, and convenient ways of redesigning children's rooms is by using a twin over twin bunk bed solution. This also allows to free incredible space that can be used as a playroom.

There are many models available in the market, some ranging from very economical to very expensive. Take measurements of the area where beds will sit, and do preliminary search in furniture shops and outlets and compare prices and models before deciding on bunk furniture. Not all bunk beds are the same, some range from very small space savers to very large and elaborately designed models.

There are also bunk beds for girls. A number of princess designs exist in the market, in a variety of colors, including pink and white. Standard beds will be the small beds with a walk rail. They will be least expensive, but this also depends greatly on what is being selected in terms of wood or metal type, shelves, cabinets, and storage space the bed allows.

Once decisions have been made regarding the beds, dismantle the previous beds, and offer them for sale at a rummage sale, or donate them to second hand stores, who will often pick them up. While the space is still empty consider redesigning the walls with paint or decals to make a truly new space. Allow children to choose stars to hang from lights, or cartoon characters to adorn walls. This will make them feel part of the process.

After this is completed organizing the toys is a must. Remove toy boxes from closet and set against the wall. Remove Easels, big stuffed animals, and play centers and tents. Assemble them and set them in the room ready for use. Avoid assembling train and car tracks unless there is already enough play space. These can still be neatly stacked in toy boxes or closets.

Think about the space and how it will be used, and consider what items would make good play items. Items such as play tents, play theaters, and pretend concession stands, building blocks, play centers, houses, desks and computers are good items to display in the room. Others can still be stacked in the closet.

Not all activities will fit into this new play space. Some will still need to be conducted outdoors. Things such as baton twirling, roller blades, or others might still need to be deemed outdoor activities. A few initial rules will assist children in understanding how to use the space, and save parents time later.

Extra room can also be saved by selecting a twin over twin bunk bed with storage space. Some models offer a sliding drawer underneath the bed. Others offer a sliding drawer and side shelves and drawers. Selecting the right model will assist in developing an environment built on safety and storage for the new decor.
