What Techniques Are Used In Bed Bug Detection Boston

By Toni Vang

Bedbugs, after disappearing for decades, they have resurfaced and they are causing nightmares to premises owners. You can only effectively eliminate bugs when they have not increased in number. A bed bug detection Boston offers you the first step in exterminating bugs from premises. People tend to notice the signs after they get home from a trip. Such bites may not mean that your premises are infested, but they could indicate you have come in contact with bugs and there might be some in the luggage you were carrying.

Bedbugs feed in darkness or at night. Their nocturnal feeding nature makes it difficult to see them. They will bite and feed on blood when you are sleeping. To make the matter worse, bugs use a natural substance or anesthetic, which is found in saliva to prevent one from feeling pain they feed on you. They will inject the substance in body and you will not feel pain when feeding on your blood. This again makes it difficult to feel when they are biting you.

People do not just get bugs in their premises. They are brought to the homes from other places. The first cue that you might have bugs in your home is when you have come from a trip or you purchased some pieces of used furniture somewhere which was infested with bugs. People who travel from one place to another and spend their nights in hotels are likely to carry the bugs or nymphs into their houses.

You should not apply treatment procedures when you have not seen live bugs. Inspections may be conducted using different approaches. Visual approach is the commonest one and has been used for many years. It entails looking at signs of bugs in premises such as presence of rusty blood stains, live bugs, skin casts, and fecal matter.

There are different ways applied by technicians to identify bugs. One of them is visual inspection. Since time immemorial, technicians have used visual inspection to detect bugs. While it is an effective method, it can also turn out to be the least effective when not done properly. In addition to that, using visual method takes a lot of time because the technicians have to go looking for signs in each and every room.

It is not right to conduct extermination procedures when you have not identified live bugs. This is one mistake many people make and which is contributing to resistance of the pests to pesticides. Many people begin to suspect bugs in their premises when they have unexplained bites on bodies. While this may be one sign that you have bugs, it is not a sure way of concluding that there are bugs.

Bugs may also be found in furniture, wall paints, and in joints. Besides the visual inspection, there is also canine detection. Dogs have been trained to sniff around premises and detect bugs. The canine detection proves effective in inspecting large premises where visual inspection may take too much time. While visual inspection might be effective, it may also be least effective if it is not done right.

So, before you consult technicians to inspect premises, make sure they are well trained. The visual inspection presents challenges to even the trained eye. Bugs can hide in areas, which are inaccessible making it pretty hard to find them. However, when the visual inspection is coupled with canine inspection, the results may be more accurate.
