How To Be Jeff Love

By Harold Green

Being a stand up comedian may look easy from the stand point of an audience but you really have to know everything that needs to happen before the show. In that way, you can prevent being overconfident in the stage. You could also start making a name for yourself even without having a solid background on comedy.

Before anything else, you ought to have a solid set up. Just like Jeff Love, people need to know where you are bringing them with this joke. Begin with a random story perhaps and this shall help in taking out the jitters in you. This can also make you realize that you can tell a made up story and everybody will believe it.

Be sure that your punch lines in United States have surprising twists to them. Write everything from scratch and be your own greatest critic. If that line does not sound funny to you, one needs to start all over again. Plus, you should find ways on how you can improve on your delivery. The least thing you need is to sound like a novice since the audience can really be mean sometimes.

You should have creative tags. They need to be as funny as your first punch lines. To serve as your inspiration, do not forget that people are here to have a temporary version of reality. So, be able to think on the stop if ever the first joke did not work. Help yourself to get better at the same time and feel fulfilled.

Find a way that you can let your humor roam around current news as well. In that situation, the audience will not find it hard to understand your attempts to be funny. Plus, this is how you can make them see that it is possible for them to turn this into a weekend habit. Allow them to give you the part time job of your life.

You should have minutes when you just listen to what everybody is talking about. Use the experience of other people for your line up. Remember that a full show can commence only after half an hour. During that time period, you need to be on top of the game for you to be invited to perform again.

You should get better with your timing. Not every joke needs to be delivered blow by blow. Be one with the audience for you to know the right time when to shut up and when to build up your momentum once again. Deliver your jokes to a friend and see how it goes from that point onwards.

Your introduction can either make or break your stint. So, go for simplicity and impact. Moreover, spent most of your time practicing and that can greatly help you in loosening up. Have proper pacing and it shall get better.

Be sure that the jokes sound natural now. Actually, try not to think too much about your statements. Your worst enemy will be your own thoughts. Come to your gigs completely relaxed.
