Many business owners are venturing out to navigate the many unique marketing giveaways that are likely to bring a return.

One of those factors is that more people are relying on technology to get through the day. Some may even find that their customers seldom make a move without their smartphone. So chances are strong that they will have little need for a bulky desk calendar unless it is known that they love animals or pictures of landscapes.

If an office staff is the likely recipients, it may be worth the time to find out how they function every day. While some take several measures to operate in a paperless mode, others may find ways to incorporate the best of both worlds. For one, sticky notes are a long time favorite that serve many purposes. By gifting an item that stores highlighters and sticky notes conveniently, this can save some administrative professional time on busy days.

Ideas may also arise from alliances or potential partnerships that may be in development. One may look to a non competitor to reach a new audience or just get more details about a particular demographic. This can help in many ways, such as choosing new products that are certain to be fast sellers.

Whether alone or in a partnership, loss leaders can be especially effective if a bundle item is created for a limited time sale. Creating a sense of urgency and offering an incentive can present interest to customers that have been dormant or have a history of large purchases. Offering a discount on a future purchase is one of the most preferred ways to ignite interest.

One trend that is growing sales is event marketing. By creating an exclusive event that is reserved for those in a special group, like rewards customers, these can drive sales on items that are not yet ready for inventory removal. This method is also successful for approaching companies that are new to the area.

Online merchants may also benefit when it comes to clearing their inventory or finding out if prices were too high for a product. Advertising an incentive for visitors via email alert or smartphone app is a trend that has proven itself in short time. Whatever method is used, it helps a great deal when the benefits are stressed in a few words rather than relying on visuals alone.

Creating a giveaway program can be fun when planned correctly. Taking a hard look at technology, customer needs, and other trends will ensure some level of success, even if the findings reveal that a major change is necessary for long term survival. While most see radical change as a reason to throw in the towel, others revel at the challenge of having a second, or another, start.
