Kettlebell Exercises vs. Electronic Ab Devices: Choose Your Side

By Brent Neenan

When you turn on the television during those early morning hours when you just can't fall asleep or even need to be up at such an hour then you've most likely seen your share of hour long infomercials. Most of them are staying or becoming fit and promote workouts that guarantee awesome results in increasingly shorter amounts of time. The fact of the matter is that many of these well-known workouts are in fact scams. Kettlebells and Kettlebell exercises though are true to their brand and offer effective workouts in relatively short amounts of time.

First, let's compare kettlebells to a more evident offender: the 15-minute workout. This seems too good to be true, and it is. In 15 minutes, you can't possibly get the workout you need for a lean, toned, sculpted body. You don't even have enough time to warm up and cool down correctly. Any workout that promises results in this short amount of time is almost certainly a scam. If you're looking for a quick, efficient workout, then kettlebells and kettlebell exercises are the way to go. Because they engage your entire body and many muscle groups at the same time, they necessitate less workout time than a traditional (but effective) exercise like the treadmill. It may be more than 15 minutes, but in a shorter amount of time you'll be through working out and will be on to the rest of your day.

Have you ever seem advertisements for those electronic abdomen exercises? The concept behind those is that weight loss and tone can be attained by the way of electrical impulse that delivers a weak shock to the area of concern and causes the muscles to tighten. Even though these gadgets are used widely in the medical field there is no proven effect on weight loss. If you want to lose weight you clearly need to exert energy, raising your heart rate. To let a machine do the work for you doesn't actually help your body. Kettllebells by Lorna on the flipside do require both effort and concentration and the results are actually positive.

A third myth to bust is the supplements that claim to be workouts "in a bottle." These are similar to electric ab waistbands in that they are supposed to provide results with no effort. Even though supplements and vitamins are complimentary of a healthier lifestyle they most definitely do not replace an entire workout. The saying "no pain no gain" really rings true when working out. Kettlebell exercises allow you to feel the way the weights are working and shaping your body. You can literally feel that you are challenging yourself.

Kettlebells and kettlebell exercises are an ideal way to work out and get your body in shape-and unlike so many of the scams out there, they do work. So the next time you notice the same "that seems too good to be true" workout routine, remember that it almost certainly is, and give those kettlebells a try!
