When you're talking about adventure racing in general, you're talking about one of the most physically demanding activities in the world. This is the one which has people putting forth some of their greatest efforts, perhaps even working harder than they ever have before. This is something to consider but is it possible for gaming to be seen alongside it? Judging from what I have seen, I would like to think that these two subjects can find their way so that they can work alongside each other.
Sonic the Hedgehog may have been a character deeply rooted in speed at one point but that has slowly morphed over the last number of years. Nowadays, he has found himself exploring various parts of the world, all the while upholding a sense of flow as he would run fast. Sometimes he doesn't stop to take in the sights but that was never his style. As much as Sonic may be addicted to the feeling of exploration, there are others who can hold just as prominent a candle.
I believe that there are few series which have been able to gain as much attention as "Assassin's Creed" for its exploration. There are several areas in Europe which are able to be traversed through, whether you're talking about Rome, Venice, or what have you. The truth is that this game has many details spread throughout every location, which actually helps to make the lack of speed a positive feature. You actually have more time to appreciate the detail in the aesthetics.
There are many series worth talking about in terms of action but this particular name has made me a fan from the start. Not only does it entail a great amount of adventure racing but it is clear that combat has become much more of a focus than ever before. These games have proven themselves to be quite varied and very few will be able to disagree with such a sentiment. The action does not seem to end, which is something that can be connected to the events the likes of Spartan Race, too.
As you can probably imagine, there are some elements which can be connected to adventure racing in general. There are many sights to see, of course, but obstacles are always going to find their way in front of you. It's up to you to be able to traverse each one that you see so that, in time, you will be able to succeed in an event which very few are able to do. While gaming might not have been the most relatable topic on the matter, certain elements apply.
