The Different Ways I Spent My Summer Holiday In Lake Como

Italy is known for many things, among them the wonderful food that is prepared there and the scenery. During your Italian Lakes holiday be sure to spend some time in Bellagio to try some amazing dishes. This is a must see town. It is gorgeous and is often thought of as one of the most beautiful in all of Europe.

That is not to say that all you can expect is lovers roaming aimlessly. There is plenty to do for those who enjoy being active. Boating is a common activity, as is diving. This is actually the deepest lake in the country. For land lovers, take advantage of one or more of the hiking trails that allow you to get closer to nature. You can even ski if you time your visit to the colder winter months.

This town is a popular romantic spot. With good reason, the beautiful scenery, amazing restaurants and the wonderful atmosphere. This place is also very popular with photographers since it is so pretty. Not only the water but the architecture itself.

Do not overlook the shops in the area. There are plenty if shopping is something that you enjoy. In these shops you are able to buy authentic items that are only made in this location and available only in this area.

When it comes to eating, Italy is known for its cuisine. For an inexpensive breakfast or lunch try Bar Cafe Rossi. You can find sandwiches and delectable pastries for your enjoyment. Everything is reasonably priced, so you enjoy without breaking the bank. For a wonderful dinner try Vecchia Varenna. The food is authentic local cuisine. The setting is romantic.

While spring, summer and fall are probably the best times to visit, there is something to be said for a winter get away. If you are lucky enough to be in the area when the Christmas market it open, it is truly something not to be missed. It would be hard not to be filled with the joy of the season. The stands offer local fair that you cannot find elsewhere. From handmade craft items, to foods and delicacies. You will see what is is like to celebrate this season in Italy.

The last weekend is June is when the Sagra di San Giovanni is celebrated. This is a fun time for all. There are fireworks, a boat parade, and a boat race. You will find folk art displays, great street food and local music playing. September is another fun time to visit. The city hosts the Palio del Baradello, which is a historical reenactment that no one should miss. If you are a foodie, think about visiting in the fall. Anyone who enjoys food will enjoy the many food related festivals taking place in the fall.

Your Italian Lakes holiday will be even better when you stop in to visit Como. The ambiance is wonderful. The many Piazzas and passageways are waiting for you to explore them. Stop in at one of the outdoor cafes. You will have a great vantage point for people watching. Enjoy the old world charm of this town. Immerse yourself in the culture. Take this opportunity to take it all in, you are making wonderful memories that can be cherished always.
