Traveling On a Trip With Pre-schoolers

By Chrissy Richards

Youngsters who aren't at school yet can pose a challenge to you if you are taking them on a road trip to another destination.

These are some things which can be done to make the ride go more smoothly for all of you, so that you can reach your destination happily.

1. Pack mini-kits of things to do before getting started on your trip. Each kit should contain supplies to do one activity. As an example, one kit can have a coloring book and crayons. Other kits may contain a little game, colored paper and/or string for making masks. A kit should last for about an hour or so. This way you aren't hustling for ideas about what to do - you have those things in place already.
2. Take enough snacks. Kids like to snack on trips. Again, the key here is preparation. Prepare snacks that aren't untidy, and that kids can eat simply all alone. Bring juice boxes or miniscule bottles of water that they can simply drink from. You might consider putting each break in a bag in order that you can just pass a bag back to them rather than opening multiple containers and moving things around while you're in the car.
3. Bring lots of CDs for the trip. Youngsters love music, and they like music that's "their" music. Bring faves along and sing as loudly as you can in the vehicle. Revolve the CDs so you aren't listening to the same song over and over; compromise with your youngsters about the order in which that you listen to the CDs.
4. If you are not driving, read to your kid. You are likely read to them at home, why not read everywhere else as well? Youngsters love being read to, and since you are actively engaged with them they are less likely to want to stroll about or begin doing something you do not need them to do.
5. Bide your time. This may seem to be clear, but many mums and dads start out with the objective of being patient, but after around an hour they become frustrated. Think of the experience from the point of view of your children. They're little, may struggle to see very well outside of the vehicle, and have no idea of how long the trip will take. They are not as mature as you are , so they're less patient about how long a trip can take.

It is your job as the parent and using Gold Coast car rental to set the atmosphere for the trip, so make a strong effort to take a big breath and keep things calm.

What you do will affect everyone else, so try your best to present a calm, happy attitude. It'll rub off. As you can tell, the key to all of these tips is preparation.

It's very important to use all of the tips laid out here to get yourself prepared to go on a trip with your youngsters. If you follow these pointers, you'll feel more relaxed on the trip, and your youngsters will stay occupied till you accomplish your destination.
