The Value of a Well Disciplined Mind

By Hal Neff

It might be said that it's a disciplined mind that is a major part behind all accomplishment. If you've ever tried to take part in the experience of disciplining your mind, you may have rapidly discovered that to achieve this outcome requires substantial effort. This isn't something that occurs naturally.

The average mind is usually cluttered with all kinds of fleeting ideas which appear to come and go. The capability to get a handle on this menagerie of thoughts that pass through the mind is what helps many people navigate the path of success.

Right this moment as you're reading this article, your head is most likely full of all sorts of thoughts. Are you focusing on what you are reading, or is your mind thinking about other stuff? The mind is really a critical source and therefore it must be handled to be effective in its use. Without the control of this "resource", the results that you're seeking to accomplish in your life are often illusive. Your goals and objectives need concentrated and focused attention.

So each person's aim must be to unclutter their thought process and relax all the background noises that exists within their mind. It's this uncluttering of background noise that really allows concentration and focus which is the start of all triumph. This is a fact whether the success aim is something large or small.

What I am suggesting here is that you can either become a master of your thoughts or you can remain a slave to them. How you choose to deal with your thoughts will determine where you end up in life. This is not a subject that many people like to think about. Lots of people would rather assess blame for their own lack of success and failures rather than allow that their own thought life was the cause of their own lack of accomplishment.

That is why it is critical for each person who wants success in their lives to develop a feeling of control over the thoughts they decide to think about in their heads. This begins with a small thing like remaining focused on the things that you choose to think about. Fight against the habit of letting your mind think about whatever it prefers. You can start to take charge of your mind and not allow the bad situations and circumstances of your life decide your future.

It is a characteristic of most extremely successful individuals that's hard to find impulsive thoughts in their lives. This concept is however not new. We can find this very principle in people and cultures thousands of years ago. This principle was shown to the Middle East country of Israel more than 3000 years ago. Its wisdom literature which was part of the Book of the Law was something that was to have been meditated on night and day, therefore ensuring prosperity and good success. Their manuscripts comprehend the importance of disciplining the mind into correct thinking.

Apply this principle and start working on disciplining your mind to think thoughts of success and prosperity in all aspects of your life. This will not come naturally and will require concerted and disciplined work to make this a part of your life. Its results nevertheless , will create a fantastic surprise by enabling you to achieve the benefits of success in your life.
