Prolong The Lifespan Of Your Dryers By Consulting Dryer Vent Cleaning Service

By Cathy Mercer

The performance of your clothe drying machines may be determined by aspects such as the way it is cleaned and how often you clean it. The lifespan of the machine will also depend on how it is maintained. Properly maintenance of dryers through professionals and simple home instructions when using the machines can go a long way in prolonging its lifespan. When you consult dryer vent cleaning service, you ensure that your clothes drying machine is cleaned properly of lint debris.

The lint found in vents is caused by numerous factors. The debris comes from the clothes being dried. As people use their clothes, the body rubs against the fibers creating loose particles of the material. In addition, when drying, the material rubs against one another further causing fabric particle to loosen up. When suction by the machine occurs, those materials come out easily.

The suction from the exhaust air of drying machine is what pulls the loose fiber particles and they collect on the filter. When lint builds up in vent, it causes various problems. The lint breaks the smooth flow of air within the vents and it may cause heating of machine. If a drying machine blows better, it means that less lint builds up inside vents.

The design of vents will determine how efficiently it blows and its tendency to accumulate lint. A machine with many turns on vents and more elbows will accumulate lint since the dirt cannot find its way out easily. The turns and elbows will hold the lint making them get trapped in the vents.

Short dryer vents do not need as much cleaning as the long ones since they tend to hold less lint. With clogged vents, you may notice that the machine becomes hotter than normal. This is one thing that may trigger fire in your drying machine. However, this is not the only aspect that can trigger fire in dryers since other things like malfunctioned thermostats may also induce fires.

If there are other fire-causing factors in a machine and the more lint builds up, this can increase the chances of fires occurring. Therefore, it is essential that you understand the signs, which indicate presence of high levels of lint in vents. One of the signs is when clothes do not dry as fast as required. A plugged vent may slow the efficiency of the machine, causing prolonged period in drying clothes.

The lint accumulation may be causing blockage of smooth flow of air. Similarly, if clothes do not fully dry, this may be another sign. If at the end of drying, you discover that the clothes are hotter than normal, then it could indicate that more heat is being held inside your dryer due to plugged vents. Low exhaust velocity may be caused by a vent flopper, which is not opening as desired due to accumulation of lint.

Moreover, if the laundry room is more humid than normal, you may also need to check on vents. A burning smell may be experienced when vents are not working properly. When you notice any of these signs, it is advisable that you consult a dryer vent cleaning service technician to inspect your machine and clean it thoroughly.
