A youth speaker is a young person who gives inspirational or motivational speeches. This terminology may also be used to describe speakers who focus on giving talks to young people. The speeches given are designed to motivate and inspire the audience and may be used for religious or businesses purposes, or as general pep talks.

Most speakers use their talks to discuss their own personal plights and offer advice. This is a strategy that is used to get a message across or as a way to encourage action or involvement. Typically these individuals are young in age or focused on mentoring young people and so they may be hired to speak at school-related conferences, ceremonies, assemblies and similar events. The topic of the talks may be one that was requested or something that the guest is passionate or knowledgeable on.

In general, these speeches are designed to bring about awareness. That may be awareness of the abilities of a person and therefore the speech would come across as inspirational. It may also be awareness of a specific cause or truth that may motivate persons in the audience to do something that they may not have done otherwise. This is true of speeches of any topic.

These speakers do not go through excessive training or education courses to do what they do. Instead, they are often self-taught. They may have completed some type of class, such as public speaking, or and internship or apprenticeship in which they have been taught the skills to speak in front of large audiences and effectively deliver a message.

People who are looking to hire these individuals for a specific event, may search for ones through various sources, depending on what the event is or the speech topic. Costs will range. Factors that can influence total cost: services, location, reputation of the guest.

Often, as part of these events and speeches, the speakers are given an opportunity to answer questions in the audience, sign books or other merchandise and even meet and greet with individuals. What is involved with this process will vary greatly. Typically, the objective is for the speaker is to not only talk to an audience, but also with audience members, acting as a sort of mentor.

An individual who gives inspirational or motivational talks is often referred to as a youth speaker. This person may be young or old, but is typically concerned with speaking to a youthful audience. The goal of most speeches is to inspire and motivate, in relation to the topic discussed.
