Golf Students. Travel Insurance to cover all mishaps

By Paul Godin

We've got a client who helps youths find sporting bursaries to colleges and colleges in the U. S.. For the past thirty years, youths from the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe have attempted to find their dreams and aspirations through the North American university system.

America is aimed at sporting excellence. They have the weather, the facilities, the coaches and the structure to give sportsmen every chance of success.

I know. I have been on a golfing scholarship myself. But that was over 25 years and much has changed in that time.

First off golfing capability has dramatically increased. The golf kids of today have lower handicaps, trained better and at early age, have better equipment and now have a broader career path in golf than was ever visualized.

But with these advancements comes greater travel and greater responsibilities. Children are travelling all around Europe and the world as the amateur golf circuit goes worldwide.

Only last week, the UK Newbie Golf Championship had competitors from States, Australia, India, Slovakia, Austria and the like.

I talked with some of the Australians and they announced that they were off to the States after completing this British tournament. These golfers are specially selected by their golfing association at a very early age and then placed on a golf unparalleled trail whereby their travel, hotel, tournament schedule and training is funded by their amateur golfing body.

A golfer can't afford losing or misplace his gear and so these golfers require a form of student travel insurance to cover the chance of lost clobber, lost luggage or lost clothing should the eventuality pop up. Simply they cannot arrive at a tournament without direct accessibility to replacements.

Golf scholars, varsities and golfing governing bodies should prepare themselves and hunt down travel related insurance to cover these possible circumstances.

You would not wish the hopes of a teenager to be halted just because lost equipment wasn't covered.
