The Power Washing New Jersey Residents Appreciate

By Mitzi Fitzgerald

There are a lot of things around your house that can be made better with a proper cleaning. The value of most things can be increased with the judicious use of a little soap and water. Yes, you could take a brush and a bucket of water to such things as your patio or decking, however, a better, faster way is available to you. The power washing New Jersey residents like to use will make fast work of even the dirtiest items on your property.

Power washing has been called pressure washing, however, this misses the point, slightly. There are, indeed pressure washers but the ones we are discussing do not have the same pressures. The pressure washers can provide pressures that can harm delicate decorative items, whereas a power washer will not necessarily do that.

Preparing the outside surface of your house for painting with a power washer is the best way to quickly accomplish this important task. Working from top to bottom on each outside wall, the dirt and cob webs can be removed easily. The windows can be cleaned and the gutters will look better after this piece of equipment is put to use.

Swimming pools can be cleaned before they are filled in the spring. Ponds can be cleaned as well as bird baths and the barbeque pit. Fences, retaining walls and Gazebos can be cleaned just as easily. Most power washers will allow the introduction of certain chemicals into the stream of water to better clean some surfaces and help keep them clean.

Most power washers use a diesel or gas powered motor. This helps to make the water hot and boosts the pressure for a good clean job. Some of the units, used inside, are powered by electricity. These are, usually a less powered unit, however, they are helpful when needing to clean oil drips in a garage or spills in a utility room.

Set the unit on a stable location and turn it on with the pull cord or electric starter. Allow the machine to bring up the right temperature and the proper pressure. The long hose should be pulled out and all kinks worked out of it. Holding the wand with the changeable nozzle, direct the flow at the item needing the cleaning. Begin your project at the lowest pressure and work up the chart to the highest as your technique improves and the surface you are cleaning is able to stand the pressure.

The changeable nozzles are an important part of this system. Many different sprays can be accomplished depending on the adjustments to these nozzles. Some of them giving a small directed flow and others fanning out over as much as 180 degrees. These nozzles can be changed quite easily and having three or four will accomplish most work you will have for it

Using a motion that will cover the entire item will call for you to cross back and forth several times. A few precautions, such as not pointing it at anyone else is appropriate. When using the power washing New Jersey residents can easily use, make sure you do not mind being wet during the cleaning session.
